
University of Louisville’s 2026-30 strategic plan,Ěý, is the guidepost by which UofL operating units, academic programs and individuals will define and measure their goals. In that spirit, President Gerry Bradley presented his goals for fiscal year 2027 at the July 23 Board of Trustees meeting. Each goal points to specific components of the strategic plan.
Trustees approved Bradley’s goals as part ofĚý, which affirmed the board’s confidence in Bradley’s leadership of the university. Bradley’s FY27 priorities (and connections to the strategic plan) are as follows:
- Achieve student success targets in the areas of enrollment and retention. (Learn)

- Expand strategic external engagement to advance legislative priorities through targeted district-level outreach and strengthen philanthropic partnerships to position the university for a successful 2027 comprehensive campaign launch. (Connect)
- Advance Cardinal Venture and develop sustainable revenue streams to strengthen Athletics’ financial foundation and future growth. (Connect)
- Champion UofL Health’s fiscal sustainability by leading a small strategic board working group to develop a capitalization strategy that strengthens the health system’s financial position and supports sustained growth. (Learn, Discover, Connect, Work)
- Drive the next phase of Innovation Park development by securing legislative support for a second facility in the upcoming congressional session and advancing partnerships with state leadership to secure the STEM-H Building within the next two years. (Discover, Connect)
- Continue progressing Stansbury Park development and secure completion of the approval phase by the end of the calendar year. (Connect)
- Update the Campus Master Plan to address future housing needs and programmatic growth. (Learn, Discover, Connect, Work)
- Expand national and international partnerships to enhance the university’s reputation and improve U.S. News & World Report and QS rankings. (Learn, Discover, Connect, Work)
- Advance strategies to strengthen university culture, climate and communication. (Work)
