New transplant method may let kidney recipients live life free of anti-rejection medication
New ongoing research published March 7 in the journal Science Translational Medicine suggests organ transplant recipients may not require anti-rejection medication in the future thanks to the power of stem cells, which may prove to be able to be manipulated in mismatched kidney donor and recipient pairs to allow for successful transplantation without immunosuppressive drugs.

It鈥檚 Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month but what exactly is colorectal cancer? Colon cancer is cancer of the large intestine, the lower part of your digestive system. Rectal cancer is cancer of the last several inches of the colon. Together, they鈥檙e often referred to as colorectal cancer. It is expected to cause about 51,690 deaths during 2012. Overall, the lifetime risk of developing colorectal cancer is about 1 in 20 (5.1 percent).
Degree in public health/ urban planning to support community health effort
The University of Louisville is admitting students to a new master鈥檚 degree program that combines public health and urban planning. Designed to educate future professionals about how infrastructure and design affects the health and well-being of the community, graduates of the program receive two degrees: Master of Urban Planning (MUP) and Master of Public Health (MPH).
