UofL鈥檚 Exercise Physiology master鈥檚 program has been named the top sports science master鈥檚 degree in the nation.
The program won first place in a ranking of 鈥50 Best Master鈥檚 in Sports Science Degree Programs (Campus)鈥 on Sports-Management-Degrees.com.听Exercise Physiology is part of the Health & Sport Sciences (HSS) department in the College of 成人直播 and Human Development.
鈥淥ver the last few years, HSS has made a concerted effort to hire world-class faculty, invest in state-of-the-art equipment, and build relationships across campus to enhance the student experience and develop future leaders in human performance,鈥 said Meg Hancock, associate professor of sport administration. 鈥淲e are particularly grateful for our relationship with the Department of Athletics, which is helping us build internship experiences, teach courses and share ideas for program development.鈥
Students who complete the program often go on to careers as exercise professionals in the specific fields of strength and conditioning, fitness and聽corporate聽wellness, and聽clinical聽rehabilitation, with many pursuing a PhD, MD, or other terminal degree.
The curriculum聽is designed to maximize certification exam success, which聽follows guidelines set by the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Last year, all 12 students who completed the program聽obtained successful career placement聽after graduation.
