LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville-area entrepreneurs can learn how to launch their product or business through a training program offered by Nucleus: Kentucky鈥檚 Innovation Center. LaunchIt is an intensive 10-week course that starts Feb. 25.
鈥淭his course will give start-up owners the tools to successfully launch their business while avoiding the pitfalls others have discovered,鈥 said Nucleus CEO Vickie Yates Brown.
This is the seventh entrepreneur training program offered by Nucleus, an arm of the University of Louisville Foundation.
Lashana Harris, who owns Babylocity, LLC, participated in the program last fall.
鈥淭his program really put the wind in the sails of my company,鈥 said Harris. 鈥淚t was a phenomenal experience and taught me so much.鈥
Harris said LaunchIt helped her secure $100,000 in seed money toward commercializing Babylocity products.
The course also helps 鈥渋ntrapreneurs鈥 鈥 those looking for new ways to improve existing companies. Greg Buccola of Louisville architectural, engineering and construction management firm Luckett & Farley said, 鈥淚t was unlike any business course, class or seminar I鈥檝e ever taken. It helped me look at our current systems through a different lens and figure out how to provide more value to our clients.鈥
