LOUISVILLE, Ky. 鈥 Paul Brandeis Raushenbush, a great-grandson of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis (1856-1941), will address an audience tonight during a University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law program.
Raushenbush agreed to speak during the 6:30 p.m. event, Seelbach Hilton Hotel, after U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan鈥攚ho is the recipient of the medal鈥攈ad to cancel at the last minute. A ceremony to honor Kagan will take place later this year.
Raushenbush is a writer, editor and religious activist. He is senior vice president for public engagement at New York City-based .
Brandeis School of Law Dean Susan Duncan said Raushenbush will talk about what life was like inside the Brandeis family. 鈥淲e are all really looking forward to hearing his unique inside perspectives,鈥 she said.
Raushenbush鈥檚 previous roles include executive editor of global spirituality and religion for The Huffington Post, editor of BeliefNet, associate dean of religious life and the chapel at Princeton University and president of the Association for College and University Religious Affairs. He is an ordained Baptist minister.
The ticketed dinner and celebration honors the legacy of Louis Brandeis and recognizes those who have preserved his ideals.
