LOUISVILLE, Ky. 鈥揚eople worried about an Earth-asteroid collision might want to hear what science educator has to say in a May 10 talk, 鈥淎steroids: Finding Them Before They Find Us.鈥
The free talk begins at 7 p.m. and will be accompanied by a visual tour and is part of a family-friendly 2013 National Astronomy Day celebration at the University of Louisville鈥檚 Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium. Tretter is the planetarium鈥檚 director.
Guests who stay for the 8 pm. show in the dome and star gazing at 9 p.m. in the courtyard, weather permitting, will pay $5 (free for planetarium members).
Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a Celestron telescope, valued at $149, to be given away the following week. Other prizes will be given away during the celebration.
