University of Louisville researchers have received four grants totaling $660,000 from the American Heart to help in the development of new cardiovascular treatments:

Francis Parkman was a historian and author in the 1800s. He wrote “The Oregon Trail: Sketches of Prairie and Rocky Mountain Life.”

Stray cats. University of Louisville librarian Karen Little rescued so many stray cats on her walk from her Old Louisville home to her office in the Dwight Anderson Library at the School of Music, that she ran out of friends and family to take in the others she saw.

Imagine an animal that is about the size of a shrew – 4 to 6 inches long – and with extremely long canine teeth, a narrow muzzle and a short, rounded skull.

President. Provost, vice president, dean, professor, manager, director. As much as these titles describe and apply to the work that happens at the University of Louisville, they don’t get to the essence of what makes UofL unique — its people.

How does a large institution like UofL balance environmental, social and economic stewardship to become more sustainable? The question is complex and the answers aren’t clear cut. But we are on our way toward answering it.
