UofL-led article focuses on flu vaccine for children with neurological disorders
Children who have neurological disorders such as cerebral palsy or epilepsy are no more likely to be vaccinated against influenza than youngsters without these conditions, despite the increased risk for complications from flu these children experience. Moreover, health care providers may not be familiar with the increased risk among these patients to effectively recommend influenza vaccine.
Updates in autism to be discussed April 16
Parents of children who are on the autism spectrum will have the opportunity to learn about recent advances in understanding the causes and detecting signs of the condition from a UofL psychiatrist and a child psychiatry fellow on April 16. The physicians also will discuss updates in the treatment of autism.
