
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — at the University of Louisville is Oct. 23-29 to raise awareness for responsible environmental, social and economic stewardship.
The week begins Oct. 23 with “Mindful, Meatless Monday,” an event showing the links between sustainability and mindfulness practices that includes a workshop on vegetarian cooking and mindful eating.
The will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Humanities Quad, featuring booths and information about what UofL and community organizations are doing to advance sustainability.
Other activities include:
- 24, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. –Local Food Showcase at The Ville Grill. UofL Dining will highlight locally sourced food
- 26, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. –Final Market of the season featuring a free bike maintenance station
- 27, the UofL Sustainability Roundtable discussion will be about “Global Politics of Climate Change,” with speaker , UofL professor of political science, 11 a.m.-noon, Urban Studies Room 123 (426 W. Bloom St.)
- 29, UofL Volunteer Day, 200 block of East Bloom Street (one block north of Cardinal Boulevard between Brook and Floyd streets).
In addition, students are encouraged to take advantage of discounted registration fees for the Oct. 27, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage (1701 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd).
