LOUISVILLE, Ky. 鈥 听The University of Louisville and Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) will take shoppers on a Nov. 30 whirlwind听tour听of local shops and restaurants as part of the sixth annual Holiday Cards Buy Local听Shopping听Tour.
听The听tour听is open to the public, but bus seating is limited. Participants must register at听. Tickets are non-refundable.
听鈥淭he Holiday Cards听shopping听trip encourages our faculty, staff, alumni and friends to buy local this holiday season and introduces them to some of the LIBA stores that help make Louisville special,鈥 said Brandy Warren, communications and marketing coordinator at UofL. 鈥淥ur work with LIBA is one of the many partnerships the university has throughout the city to help strengthen our community.鈥
听Those on the听tour听will visit locally owned businesses in several Louisville neighborhoods. The $45 registration fee includes opening and closing receptions, door prizes and transportation to more than a dozen shops on East Market Street (NULU), Fourth Street, Frankfort Avenue and Butchertown.
听Activities begin with festive drinks and pastries at the University Club on Belknap Campus at 8 a.m. Participants board a bus at 9 a.m. to begin their day of听shopping听and return to the club for a 4 to 6 p.m. reception featuring drink samples, hot hors d鈥檕euvres and door prizes.

听听Shoppers will also have a chance to enter LIBA鈥檚 鈥淏uy Local Win $1k: hoLOUdays Contest鈥 by听entering at听LIBA member stores for a chance to win a $1,000听shopping听spree at LIBA businesses.
