The Office of Communications and Marketing at UofL and Yelp, the public review website, are combining for a series of monthly events to bring the public to campus for a crash course in what UofL has to offer locals.

鈥淵elp Gets Schooled at UofL鈥 will feature at least four social events highlighting various programs at the university.

The series begins Feb. 28 at Jazz Fest 2015 sponsored by the School of Music. Guests will be treated to a reception and pre-party before the Jazz Fest concert featuring Derrick Gardner and Vincent Gardner. UofL jazz department faculty will be on hand to give an insider鈥檚 look at the concert and the reception will feature various activities, food and drinks.

Additional events throughout the series include a laser light show at Rauch Planetarium, a preview night performance of 鈥淗int! A Masked Murder Mystery鈥 with UofL Theatre Arts, and a night to explore University Archives. Other events may be added during the duration of the series.

鈥淭here鈥檚 so much more that UofL provides for our community alongside academics,鈥 said UofL President James Ramsey. 鈥淛oining with Yelp for this series lets us show off some of our favorite features and remind the community of the kinds of activities our campus has to offer.鈥

All events are open to the general public, but guests must register through Yelp. For more information and to register for the events, visit 鈥淵elp Gets Schooled at UofL鈥 at .听
