Every year, students submit nominations for UofL鈥檚 list of Faculty Favorites. All faculty, staff and graduate teaching assistants who receive nominations receive a formal letter of recognition from the Provost as well as a certificate, and are also invited to the annual Faculty Favorites Reception.
A total of 262 faculty members were nominated for the 2014-2015 academic year. The top four faculty members to receive the most nominations are recognized through announcements in UofL Today as well as a banner displayed in front of Ekstrom Library. The 鈥淭op 4鈥 for the 2014-2015 year are: Mark N. French (Speed), Heather D. Mitchell (Nursing), Nicholaus S. Noles (A&S) and Brad Shuck (CEHD). These four, along with all other nominees, were to be honored Feb. 12 at the Celebration of Teaching & Learning on Shelby Campus.聽
Meet the”Top 4″ in these short videos:
, a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. One student noted: “He has been by far the best professor I have had in my collegiate career. Every class, no matter how difficult the subject, he has made easy and enjoyable to learn.”
, a professor in the School of Nursing. One student noted: “Ms. Mitchell is the best instructor in the School of Nursing. Her goal is to truly teach you the content so that you can be successful in the future. I wish more instructors could teach the way that she does. She’s awesome!”
, a professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. One student noted: “I really enjoyed this professor! He was fun, loved his subject, and very friendly. His tests were not easy, but he took time to make sure all questions were fair and looked at the stats for each question to make sure he didn’t need to make adjustments to the grades. (This is a lot more than most professors will do!)”
, a professor in 成人直播al Leadership, Evaluation and Organizational Development. 聽One student noted: “I have had many instructors over the last six years but none more engaging, more positive and motivational than Brad. He makes learning (adult) interesting, relevant and applicable to today’s market. I wish I could take more classes from him … his passion for teaching and subject knowledge is beyond reproach.”
