The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, Swain Student Activities Center. Admission is free for UofL students, staff and faculty. General admission is $5 payable at the door.聽
A pep rally will kick off the event and will include student athlete appearances and a Cardinal Spirit contest. Tuohy will begin speaking at 7:30 p.m. Afterward, she will sign copies of her parents鈥 book, 鈥淚n a Heartbeat: Sharing the Power of Cheerful Giving.鈥 She wrote one of the book鈥檚 chapters.聽
During her talk, Tuohy will talk about life with her adopted brother Oher, now a professional football player for the Baltimore Ravens. She is expected to address her support of adoption, literacy efforts and the importance of helping others.聽
The Tuohy family鈥檚 story was first included in the book 鈥淭he Blind Side: Evolution Of A Game,鈥 by Michael Lewis. The book was adapted into the 2009 Oscar-nominated film 鈥淭he Blind Side.鈥
Tuohy earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Mississippi, where she also was a cheerleader, president of the Student Alumni Council, president of the Student Spirit Committee and an officer in Kappa Delta Sorority. She is on the board of .
