The event will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. behind the Founders Union Building and will include free food, inflatable rides, activities and entertainment for people of all ages. The menu will include hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, fruit, hummus, fresh vegetables and soft drinks. In many cases, the food is locally grown or produced by local vendors.
鈥淲e want to thank our faculty and staff for the commitment they鈥檝e made to make UofL a premier metropolitan research university,鈥 Ramsey said. 鈥淭his picnic is one way we can say 鈥楾hank You鈥 not only to our employees, but also to their families for their support.鈥
To help with planning, event organizers are asking employees to register for the picnic by Wednesday, Sept. 5. Several door prizes, including tickets to a UofL football game and men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball games, will be given away through a drawing among everyone who registers for the event by Sept. 5.
