Saturday night鈥檚 showing of 鈥淥z the Great and Powerful鈥 will be on the West Lawn near the Red Barn. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with inflatable rides, children鈥檚 activities, local mascot appearances and music. The movie will start at dusk.
Parking will be available in several lots near the site. Patrons should enter via First Street off Cardinal Boulevard. Once on campus, visitors should turn left at the stop sign, then park either at the University Club lot or in the yellow lot behind Miller Hall.
Third Street from Central Avenue to Cardinal Boulevard will be closed from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for the Lunar 5K run. Also during that time, Central Avenue and Eastern Parkway will be closed between Floyd Street and Third Street. Patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, coolers and picnic baskets. 鲍辞蹿尝鈥檚 dining services provider, Sodexo, will sell hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks and other food on site.
鈥淥z the Great and Powerful鈥 is the story of Oscar Diggs, a small-time magician who is swept away to an enchanted land and forced into a power struggle between three witches. Putting his magic to use through illusion, ingenuity鈥攁nd even a bit of wizardry鈥擮scar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz, but into a better man. The movie, rated PG, stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz.
