聽Pride Week is an opportunity for the campus community to come together as one, said Brian Buford, director of UofL鈥檚 Office of LGBT Services.

鈥淭he theme this year is celebrating all of our identities,鈥 Buford said. 鈥淧ride in who you are. Being able to celebrate that is important for everybody. Whoever you are at UofL, you can celebrate that. You can feel welcomed here.鈥

Rapp will deliver the Pride Week keynote address at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 in the Student Activities Center Multipurpose Room. During his talk, he is expected to take audiences through his career, the loss of his friend and 鈥淩ent鈥 playwright Jonathan Larson and highlight the role 鈥淩ent鈥 played in bringing LGBT, HIV/AIDS and poverty issues into the national spotlight. At 8:30 p.m., the Office for LGBT Services and Pandora Productions will host an after party at Third Avenue Caf茅, 1164 S. 3rd St. Both events are free and open to the public.

Pride Seek sponsors include the Office of LGBT Services, commonGround, Magnolia Photo Booth Co., the Vice Provost for Diversity and International Affairs, the School of Medicine, Human Resources and the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies.
