The Cardinal Success Program @ Shawnee聽will offer counseling services to students and their families. It is聽staffed by faculty and graduate students from the College of 成人直播 and Human Development鈥檚 成人直播al and Counseling Psychology, Counseling, and College Student Personnel Department.

鈥淪ocial and emotional health are an important part of college readiness and this center supports our ongoing mission to help high school students transition into college,鈥 UofL Provost Shirley Willihnganz said.

The Academy officially opened with a ceremony.聽.

鈥淟ocating the center within the school itself will allow UofL and JCPS to capitalize on its powerful partnership,鈥 said JCPS Superintendent Donna Hargens. We will work as a team, collaborating with teachers, parents, counselors and community members, to help our students succeed.鈥

CEHD Dean Ann Larson said the center will bring counseling services to an underserved area of the community.

鈥淭his is a great way for the university to share its expertise with the community,鈥 Larson said. 鈥淭he services will be provided by graduate-level counseling psychology and clinical mental health students working under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.鈥

The Cardinal Success Program @ Shawnee is part of the Signature Partnership, a university initiative to improve the education, health and social status of individuals and families who live in Louisville鈥檚 urban core.
