
Films from Vietnam, China, Cuba and Mali highlight the 10th anniversary lineup of the University of Louisville鈥檚 International Film Series in February.
Free, public screenings will be in Ekstrom Library鈥檚 Chao Auditorium with moderators leading discussions afterward and refreshments provided. The communication department鈥檚 Institute for Intercultural Communication, Commonwealth Center for the Humanities and Society and the College of Arts and Sciences offer the film series.
The schedule includes:
– 鈥淥wl and the Sparrow,鈥 Vietnam, 4 p.m. Feb. 7
– 鈥淛ourney to the West,鈥 China, 4 p.m. Feb. 8
– 鈥淯na Noche,鈥 Cuba, 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Feb. 10
– 鈥淭imbuktu,鈥 Mali, 4 p.m. Feb. 11.
鈥淭he film festival brings to our community a rich variety of cinema from around the globe,鈥 said Margaret D鈥橲ilva, festival founder and director of the Institute for Intercultural Communication. 鈥淥ver the past nine years we have shown films from Morocco and India to Ecuador and Georgia. It is the perfect indoor event that lets you experience a slice of a distant culture smack-dab in the middle of winter.鈥
