Ramsey received the award June 18 at a dinner at Fort Knox.
Ramsey was nominated by service members who felt the positive impact of UofL鈥檚 military outreach programs. These include counseling for PTSD and similar issues through the university鈥檚 Depression Center, offering reduced-rate college credit courses at Fort Knox High School and the VetStart program in the College of Business that helps veterans start their own businesses.
鈥淒r. Ramsey enthusiastically supports programs on campus that treat, employ and educate the military,鈥 said Renee Finnegan, executive director of UofL鈥檚 Office of Military Initiatives and Partnerships. 鈥淭hese programs help us maintain a strong partnership with the Fort Knox military community.鈥
Past recipients of the award have included members of the Swope family.
