Grammy-nominated Hart first studied classical saxophone but is now known for his jazz saxophone skills. Hart is a professor of jazz studies at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, The City University of New York. He has combined music studies with jazz greats Jimmy Heath and Donald Byrd and played with the likes of Slide Hampton, the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Stars, Roy Hargrove, Art Blakey and others.

Known for his dynamic drumming, Hamilton has recorded and performed throughout the world and recorded with such artists as Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall, Rosemary Clooney and Mel Torme. He also appeared with Natalie Cole in a PBS Great Performances special, Unforgettable.
