Museums and galleries throughout the country, including The Library of Congress, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Speed Museum and the Poindexter Gallery in New York City, have exhibited Dobbins鈥 work. She is a graduate of the Washington University School of Fine Arts, where she met and studied with Stephen Pace.
Pace is most commonly associated with the New York Abstract Expressionist movement. 聽He has exhibited his work in some of the nation鈥檚 most important galleries and museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Whitney Museum of American Art and the Corcoran Gallery of Art.聽
He was one of Art News editor, Thomas Hess鈥檚 seminal young abstract expressionists dubbed 鈥淵oung Hessians鈥 in the early 鈥50s.
There will be a reception during the First Friday Trolley Hop on Jan. 6. The exhibit will run through Jan. 21. Gallery hours are: Wednesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; and first Friday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. All Cressman Center events are free and open to the public.
